Skincare Favorites

Hello there! My skin is oily/combination skin so the items that I've listed here may vary depending on what your skin concerns are and what you use for your morning and night routine. Let's get started!

                                                         AM/PM Skincare Routine

Cleanser

On the left is the e.l.f. limited-edition Jelly Pop Watermelon Jelly Cleanser ($8.00) It aims to leave the face clean, plump, and hydrated since it's infused with skin-loving ingredients such as Watermelon extract and Vitamin B5.

*If you're interested in finding any fruit infused cleanser, I suggest trying out Glow Recipe's Watermelon collection such as the Sleeping Mask and Moisturizer, Drunk Elephant, or even the Sephora Mask and Lip Balm Collection too.

Upon using this, I found this to be great in removing makeup during the night time and it's refreshing with the scent of Watermelon since I enjoy anything that's fruity.

On the right is Lavish Glow Beauty's Plant-Powered Oil Cleanser ($38.00) and it contains castor oil, apricot, sweet almond oil, kernel oil, jojoba, vitamin E, hemp seed, and more. These ingredients all help to counter oil and balances out the skin. It also gently removes dirt, impurities, oil, sunscreen, and stubborn makeup. It helps to smooth fine lines to give a youthful glow.

When it's not winter or fall, I use this during the summertime to help control the oiliness of my skin and counter the other concerns as well such as fine lines and having soft, radiant skin.

Toner

This GoCareforYou Garner's Garden Pure Toner ($6.49) is very affordable and I found this to be similar but also less rough than the Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner ($11.49).

This toner is made with the finest, 100% pure witch hazel and aloe vera juice. It aims to minimize dryness in the skin and this organic face toner includes the added benefit of aloe vera.

I've tried and used this every day and found that my skin has cleared up and resulted in smooth skin and less puffy eyes too.

Serums/Eye Cream

I'm a big fan of Glow Recipe so when my sister gave me this set with their best-sellers, I was pleased to see how smooth and lightweight both the texture and formula were on my skin.

The Glow Recipe Banana Souffle Moisture Cream ($39.00) is a soothing, lightweight moisturizer that resets, replenishes, and seals in a boost of lasting hydration without clogging pores making it suitable for all skin types even acne-prone skin. It's also non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, making it especially good for sensitive skin.

The ingredients in this moisture cream are banana, chia seed, magnesium, turmeric, and cica making it a sweet souffle recipe for calmer and hydrated healthy-looking skin.

This cream made my skin less stressed and more hydrated and replenished and would feel soft and smooth throughout the entire day.

The Vitamin C Serum ($22.00) brightens the skin, lightens dark spots, and addresses aging concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles.

This contains many ingredients and some of them are:

Acne Serum - This helps clear and minimize clogged pores, breakouts, and acne.

Hydrating Serum - It deeply hydrates and plumps the skin instantly hydrating, replenishing, and boosting the skin's ability to retain moisture, to reveal a smoother youthful complexion.

This is also suitable for all skin types such as dry, oily, acne-prone, sensitive, and mature skin for both men and women. I love how it's refreshing and it contains hyaluronic acid which plumps and hydrates the skin while also reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

My top two favorite items from the INKEY List courtesy of my cousin Mary for recommending this affordable brand to me when we went to Sephora a long time ago.

First, we have the INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid bottle ($7.99) that also has instructions on when to apply it on the back in case you forget one morning or night when to apply in your skincare routine.

Hyaluronic Acid is the first step after cleansing because it can calm and soothe the skin afterward and balance out the skin's PH levels. It acts as a hydration veil before applying other products which may cause the skin to be sensitive and if you apply them after it sinks in, it will absorb more effectively into the skin.

Second, the Caffeine Eye Cream ($9.99) works wonders to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.

This hydrating and lightweight eye cream helps reduce under-eye puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines.

I would put a small amount of this around the contour of my eye and if I wanted more soothing, then I place this in the fridge for about a half-hour and it activates more of the cooling sensation that I feel when applying this around my eye.

**I recommend anything and everything from INKEY List because not only is it very affordable but they also have products not just for your skin but also for your hair as well. I've found great results when using both of these because I was able to have a smooth and even skin texture.

Moisturizer

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer ($21.00) is a super brightening and lightweight moisturizer that has watermelon extract, hyaluronic acid, and botanicals to increase radiance and glow.

They all contribute to the skin by

- hydrating the skin, delivering essential vitamins, and has anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe irritation

- hydrating the skin by holding up to 1,000 times its weight in moisture

- helping protect the skin against environmental aggressors

This lightweight formula and bouncy texture help contribute to my skin getting a boost in radiance and glow and better yet, the scent smells so good.

The Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 Sample helps to calm, rebalance, and protect your sensitive skin. This sunscreen and moisturizer are made with CALMING FEVERFEW and Nourishing Oat which are both clinically proven to be effective for sensitive skin.

It's fast-absorbing and lightweight like it says and contains SPF 30 making it a great item for me to use as a sunblock on my face before going outside.

If you're interested in getting this, it's ($14.99) at Target in-store and online, ($12.85) on Amazon.

Dewy Skin Cream

The Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream Plumping and Hydrating Moisturizer ($20.00) Mini Size is a rich formula that feeds the skin with visibly plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for skin that looks dewy, radiant, and healthy.

It contains

Japanese Purple Rice - protects the skin from damage

Okinawa Algae Blend and Hylauronic Acid - visibly plump skin with hydration

This cream gave me moisturized and smooth skin and this greatly helps me during the wintertime with my dry skin.

Lip Sleeping Mask

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry and the full size on Sephora/Laneige website is priced at ($22.00) and comes with a small spatula for application.

This was a part of a gift set that was given to me by my sister and this is one of the lip care products I hear quite often about because you can not only apply it at night time to nourish the lips but also before you put on any lipstick to head out.

It's also recommended that you put on a thick layer of this before going to bed as it will smooth and moisturize for smoother and more supple lips.

I enjoy the scent of this and how it helps with chapped lips and have felt that's made a difference in taking care of my dry and chapped lips at this time.

*The Lip Glowy Balm in all the shades ($17.00) is also another one of my favorites for smoother lips.

Body Lotion

One of my favorite scents from Bath and Body aside from Japanese Cherry Blossom and A Thousand Wishes is the Discontinued Hello Beautiful 24 hr Ultra Shea Body Cream. This is a floral scent containing white gardenia, jasmine petals, and magnolia blossom.

The key fragrance notes:

White Gardenia - enticing floral that's both light and airy

Jasmine Petals - a soft, romantic flower picked under the stars

Magnolia Blossom - sweet, citrusy, and super fragrant

Although this has been discontinued, you can still find similar scents such as Dahlia, Japanese Cherry Blossom, or A Thousand Wishes. I enjoyed this lotion because it keeps my body hydrated during the cold season and it lasts throughout the whole day just like it says 24 hr body cream.

The Aveeno Cracked Skin Relief was part of an old Target Skincare Beauty Box ($7.00) It's also available to buy by itself for ($11.99) in the 11 oz tub at Target in-stores. I found that this greatly helped relieve the cracked skin I felt on the soles of my feet since my feet are prone to being slippery when it's not hydrated by body cream or lotion during winter.

So there you have it, those are all of my skincare and body care favorites during this season. I hope that although it was a long read that you've either A) discovered some new products or B) tried out some of these and have already recommended them to your friends and family.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for a giveaway on my Instagram 😀💜

Review: Makeup Revolution x Soph Extra Spice Eyeshadow Palette

Today, I'll be reviewing and talking about the pros and cons of this palette and why or why not you should skip or add this to your collection. As always, all opinions are my own.  One of the reasons why I like this palette is that it has a good mix of both matte and shimmers.  -You can go from daytime to nighttime with just two to three shades.  -It's also a good deal for $15, you can get 18 eyeshadows that go from neutral, berry, olive to a sunset eye look.  Here are the swatches from Top to Bottom for the first two rows:  Everyday  Running Late Infinity Cheesecake Cookie Dough Dreams Vitamin C  Sweet n Sour  Twenty One Romance Enchanted Lakes Here's the last row of swatches: Brownies Chocolate Orange Mulled Wine LA Sun Aurora Reputation Some cons are  -Can be a bit patchy and contain a lot of fall out when you apply eyeshadow  -With fallout, you can always tap off the excess and also use a Q-tip with lotion to remove where it's...
