October Movie Recommendations

Happy early Halloween to my dear readers! Today, I'll be telling you what movies you should be watching during this spooky season and if the movie that you love to watch during Halloween isn't on here, don't worry because there will be a part two series adding to this list.

The Halloweentown series on Disney + and Amazon Prime

The Halloweentown series has been a part of my childhood and yours for a long time especially with some of its best-known quotes.

"Why do you even like Halloween?"
  "Halloween is cool"

For some that have yet to watch this on their movie list, it's about a family where the grandmother is a witch and she comes to visit her grandchildren in the mortal world. When Grandma Aggie arrives, Gwen who is the mom of Dylan, Sophie, and Marnie looks displeased to see her visiting them on Halloween night. She has Aggie promise her not to tell the children about "the other world".

Low and behold, Aggie has a book that's all about Halloweentown and features the iconic huge pumpkin that's in the town square. The children are very curious about it and read each page, Marnie the oldest is the most intrigued to know more about this place.

I would give this series a fittingly 9 out of 10 pumpkins because it has everything you need: comedy, action/adventure, and it's family-friendly for everyone to enjoy.

Frankenweenie is a Tim Burton classic and if you're a fan of Burton's, you're probably familiar with his other movies such as Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish, and more.

Frankenweenie explores the bond between a boy named Victor and his dog, Sparky. Sparky helps Victor out in his home movies and also brings joy to his life while he makes science experiments in the attic. One day, Victor is out playing baseball with friends and hits a home run. Sparky helps him get a home run by going after the baseball upon which he gets hit by a car.

I give this movie 10/10 pumpkins due to the gothic fantasy animations done by Tim Burton and how it was very well-done with plot and storyline.

Hocus Pocus is now known as a cult classic among many audiences, one being its witty lines.

"Oh look. Another glorious morning. Makes me sick!"

"What do you call this?"

"Well, tell me, friend, what is this contraption?"

"I call it a bus."

If you haven't ever heard or seen this, it's about how on October 31, 1963, in Salem, Massachusetts, Thackery Binx sees his little sister Emily being taken away to a cottage of three witches. The Sanderson sisters: Winifred, Mary, and Sarah cast a spell on Emily to absorb her youth and regain it as their own, leaving her dead. Unfortunately, when Thackery confronts the witches...it's too late as they then cast a spell on him turning him into an immortal black cat cursed to live with guilt for not saving Emily.

The townsfolk, led by Thackery's friend Elijah and his father capture the witches. Before being hanged, Winifred casts a spell that will resurrect them during a full moon on All Hallow's Eve when any virgin lights the Black Flame Candle.

Three hundred years later, Max feels displeased about his family moving from Los Angeles, California all the way to Salem, Massachusetts. On Halloween, Max takes his little sister Dani trick-or-treating where they run into Max's new crush Allison. In a bid to make Max believe in witches, he tells them that they should visit the old Sanderson cottage which has been turned into a museum ran by Allison's parents.

10/10 pumpkins for this as well and it contains a Disney classic filled with mystery and comedy. You may even find yourself singing the catchy song, "I Put a Spell on You".

How are you spending Halloween this year? I hope you get a chance to celebrate by dressing up and eating your favorite candies.

Review: Makeup Revolution x Soph Extra Spice Eyeshadow Palette

Today, I'll be reviewing and talking about the pros and cons of this palette and why or why not you should skip or add this to your collection. As always, all opinions are my own.  One of the reasons why I like this palette is that it has a good mix of both matte and shimmers.  -You can go from daytime to nighttime with just two to three shades.  -It's also a good deal for $15, you can get 18 eyeshadows that go from neutral, berry, olive to a sunset eye look.  Here are the swatches from Top to Bottom for the first two rows:  Everyday  Running Late Infinity Cheesecake Cookie Dough Dreams Vitamin C  Sweet n Sour  Twenty One Romance Enchanted Lakes Here's the last row of swatches: Brownies Chocolate Orange Mulled Wine LA Sun Aurora Reputation Some cons are  -Can be a bit patchy and contain a lot of fall out when you apply eyeshadow  -With fallout, you can always tap off the excess and also use a Q-tip with lotion to remove where it's...
